Welcome  I am Billie Day, the curator of the Star Historical Museum.  I hope you enjoy the website.  CLICK HERE or  on my picture to listen to my message to you. Please visit us again. We will be continuously adding information. 

Location  The Star Historical Museum is located on Farm Road 1047, just south of US Highway 84, in Star, Mills County, Texas.

Mission The Star Historical Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and displaying items that have been donated or loaned by past and present residents, depicting the history of Star, Mills County, Texas. The museum currently houses photos, collections, and family archives of the first settlers of this small town.

Organization  The Star Historical Museum is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization.  All cash  donations are tax deductible and are greatly appreciated.

Board of Directors Gene Moore - President; Billie Day - Vice President; Leta Braley - Treasurer; Judy McKinney - Secretary; Bettie Black - Member; Freda Decker - Member; Warren Harris - Member; Jimmy Villarreal - Member.

Hours Sunday afternoons, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Please contact us to arrange a special tour.

On May 29th,  the Star Historical Museum received quilts and a fire starter, as a donation from Ms. Candy Gross and Karyl Seibert of the Texas Methodist Foundation.  Click Here to see the article appearing in the June 25th Goldthwaite Eagle.

On May 28th, a Memorial Day Flag Service was held at the Star Historical Museum.  Click Here to see the article appearing in the June 4th Goldthwaite Eagle.

On May 17th a Garage Sale was held at the Star Historical Museum to benefit the Museum.

THE MUSEUM LOSES A FRIEND - FLORINE HAMILTON SOULES  On April 25, 2008, a "Friend of the Museum," Florine Hamilton Soules, passed away.  She will be buried on Monday, April 28, 2008, 3:00 p.m. in Star, at the Hurst Ranch Cemetary.  Florine donated many artifacts and pictures to the museum.
